Not the new fella at Lindy but the comedian from back in the 80's. Gotta love him

What an excellent night. The Mike Booth Big Band were just fantastic to dance to and the turn out was a veritable who's-who of Lindy in the North with more Lindy dancers in the same place than I think Leeds has ever seen in recent years.
Saw this on Digg. Thought I saw through the 1st illusion but the 2nd is proper good.

This week at our regular Leeds Friday night Lindy dance classes we had...
Jo & CB with some 8 beat Beginners and Intermediate classes focussing on lateral frame for the follow. Even a little drop for the lead at the end.

and as ever some mucking about. This time it's breakdancing from Pat & CB

So Al claims to be trying to train herself to sneeze "Ka-Pow" (presumably for something to do) which tickled me. Surely it's not possible?! A workmate says their mom sneezes god's name each time and was taught to do this since a kid.
I'm sure it's some elaborate hoax but I'm pretty fascinated. We could all use a cooler sneeze!
Vix has started having a go at this, managing only 'Ha-Koo' .Already I'm envious. I'll be gutted if Al cracks this and I'm not in even in training, so I've had a go but sneeze so rarely it's tricky.
One chance I had today , I made a slightly different sound but felt like I'd dislocated my face. Worried that it's dangerous to mess with that much pressure. A sneeze comes out at up 120mph I'm reliably informed. I hope Al & Vix are taking care.

The old cat-in-a-washing-machine gag which you'll enjoy if you're a bit cruel like me

At our regular Friday night Lindy Dance in Leeds this week we had...
Spot of "Round the world" Aerials training with Al & Tim

Followed by some excellent 6 beat based classes

and the inevitable mucking about

Always exciting on run up to a new term. Lindy @ the Light at xmas generated a lot of interest in our Lindy dance here in Leeds once again. Quite a few new folks e-mailed with interest and website's had a few hundred hits more than usual. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who want to learn to dance Lindy in Leeds who just don't know what it is yet. Lindy Hop is far from a household name just yet.
Al & Tim
lead our first Friday of term as is customary. Very much looking forward to it all.

We got drunk with Al & Vic no.2 at the weekend and got talking about this facebook business (or as Vix affectionately calls it fuckface/facefuck). Now all those whose opinions I value, find objectionable, but the Uni Swing Kids are on there so I thought I'd have a look.
Nothing too exciting, except I see that Lucy knows lots of boys (about 137 of them), but she insists she's not a geek and was just "doing an essay".
Other interesting tidbits are that Emma is longing to build an Igloo. I know how she feels, but she's still an evil genius (mermaid or not).
Made a LindyFridays group on there too but don't know how to invite anyone so we have only 2 members ;o( Just me and Tim (but we fought together back in 'nam so that's ok).
Ranj is on there all the same so it can't be all un-coolness

Scraping and sanding is my life. Vix is moving in and loft room needs to be knocked into shape. I'm now fairly handy with a heat gun but near deaf from the electric sanding contraption (which wasn't actually that useful).

but I do think Vix has never looked lovelier
